so i thought success would lead me out of an illegally run establishment. so why am i now tempted with burrowing deeper into the black abyss. at least i have a leasing contract as a renter with the taco bar. this next project doesn’t even have a single sheet of paper nor a signature acknowledging that we rent the space.

this place will be the death of me. it’s too much fun.

and too much headache. you can look over your shoulder only so many times.

beijing. still the strangest place i’ve ever lived. this photo was monday evening. how the hell did i get to be the one to pick a place for this pedigreed chef to eat at? knowing me, i pick the dive neighborhood spot for beijing duck to impress. how dive and ignorant of a place did i pick? his friend refused to use the bathroom there and held it until they went to the next place. haha, oops? of course, the food was a total win.

30th birthday party.

a heads up for people to start planning ahead. join me in sanshui on makung island which is part of penghu islands just off coast of taiwan.

when? between mid may to late may.

who? anyone and everyone. (there better be a few of you coming out from seattle and quite a few from beijing)

how long? i dunno, i’ll be there at least a week.

where to stay? there quite a few lodging options around the beach that i want to book out.

why? well i’m gonna be 30. not married. no kids. no real job. i sold my 2 cars and traded it in for vintage bicycle that i paid too much for and an electric tricycle. i have no real home. what’s not to celebrate?

and i know most of you have never been to taiwan or know nothing about it so i figured this would be a great opportunity for you to have an excuse to come explore.

what’s there to do? eat, a given. drink. swim. snorkel. dive. surf. spear fish with my uncles, professional fishermen. organic garden/farm your heart out(grandma’s got one attached to the house). cruise the islands, yes islands, on a scooter. live simply.

what’s there not to do? facebook. text. all that modern day good stuff.
